BIRDS OF THE FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER

I decided to publish comment I accidentally found in the discussion under article "The change must come from us" and despite it's there for  long time already, I have never noticed it and I have never read it. Until now. It's written by the Maasai, I don't know if man or a  woman. It's a very big point there but still - Maasais you can meet normally at beach actually don't and can't think in that way. The author of the comment signed himself/herself as a Maasai so let's believe in that. There is nothing to add, maybe only be aware that to reach with a Maasai what is written there, some kind of equal level of thinking, being and feeling,  will be very tough. VERY TOUGH, near impossible, but it's the only way which can theoretically work in small percentage. More likely you have this chance with the Maasai studying in DAR at universtity, but guys from the beach, knowing only Maasai bush and having that mentality... Very unlikely it can happen with a Maasai who is already at beach hunting mzungus, tasted easy money at least at once. It's exactly how that guy/girl is writing. I would not write it better.

"Let me tell you something guys, Love is blind we all know that. There's nothing like black magic.
You were born and raised in Europe it's typically different from where you came to find a new love, probably a hopeless place.

In your childhood, you had a boyfriend, you met in both love and level. The level means a lot here, like the same thinking capacity, the same dimensions on things, and life goals.

You came to Africa, you met a new love out of blindness, exactly knowing you two coming from two very different levels of life, two different thinking capacities, two different life goals, and two different cultures or beliefs.

Do you think, love only can keep you two forever? Do you think your body satisfaction can validate your blindness for a lifetime? The answer is NO!

Sorry for my bad English, I'm trying hard, I'm a Maasai too.
100% of open relationships between Maasai guys and white women we see on social media are faked, they are not happy at all, they act happy just to get viewers engaged and keep it looking good outside but inside there are a lot of struggles.

Establishing love is one thing, which is actually automatic, we all fall in love maybe being out of control, out of lust of the flesh, or whatever... but keeping it into motion to last is another thing; It's a struggle, yes it is.
WHERE ARE WE FAILING? We failing to create the SAME LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING so we can create EQUAL LOVE. You met uneducated guy, never knows what's really love means, struggling for food, lying as a habit of survival, always dreaming to sleep on those five stars hotels, immature and yet you expecting things to be the same as your old love in Europe/America/Oceania etc. Nothing can be offered to you apart from sex which is sometimes rough too.

It can't be the same, it can't be the same because your life goals, things, perceptions, optimism, enthusiasm, and passion are typically different. Very different and equality cannot be created by love only. Too bad, there's NO SHORTCUT.

WHAT TO DO? When LOVE is automatically created, try to create a new MINDSET to your partner. Build your partner. NEVER GIVE MONEY, NEVER SHOW YOUR MONEY, NEVER CELEBRATE HIM AS AN ACHIEVEMENT, NEVER TAKE HIM FOR A DRINK, NEVER ASK THEIR PROBLEMS, NEVER BE COMPASSIONATE, COORDINATE WITH YOUR BRAIN IN EVERYWHERE YOUR HEART TAKES YOU until you are satisfied that you two are in the same level of understanding, thinking, and you two can look love from the same direction.

Create the LEVEL by educating your partner, especially formal education send him to school and follow to know if he is really going, create a manner so he can understand the value of money, not just be a spender. Let him know that all you have doesn't come from the sky, there was a lot of struggles in the past. Let him know and understand that he did not meet an angel or a miracle from heaven, you are a human and he can be like you if he's ready to learn.
Make him a mature man, not just a beach boy. You can do this by trying to ask him 'unnecessary' advices, listen to him and change him slowly. WIN HIM but don't take a man role, be a wise woman. You will thank me later.

Yes, it's hard work but you can't be on the same perceptions if you can't do that. Birds of the feather flock together."

  1. yes, it's truth but I think the reason why this blog was created wasn't to find the way how to change Maasais and press them to adapt our values, habits or way of life / way of love, but to warn women who are blindly and naive in relationship with a Maasai that it's not going anywhere. There is no future with a Maasais but struggeling whole the time. Maasais will not change themselves and for sure not because of white women. But what I personally see as needed is to be informed about this, to be informed about who Maasais are and be informed about there is no future for us next to a Maasai man. First of all, all those at beach are immature egocentric children - really there is nothing that white woman can expect from them (except of sex). And second - also if you will be very very lucky and you will meet normal Maasai - there will be a lot of struggles and really bad nights full of tears and misunderstandings, and maybe in 1 % of cases can happen what is written here. But chance is very very small, with Maasais it's small. Maybe some people from Moshi, or maybe Maasais from Arusha, but Maasais from Tanga region, sorry, they are too spoiled already and not openminded at all, their relationship to a Mzungu is deeply defined in the clan - everybody knows the purpose, why that mzungu is near to them. Money. And everyone will know, her presence in boma is very temporary. Only person who doesn' t know will be you. :) that feeling that everyone in the bush, every single small child will look at you with lauging how foolish you are. Oh

    1. this is not truth, some of them are high educated, having degrees from universities.. It's simply not truth they are all not educated. The only question is if a Maasai can really think in this deeper way. Deeper way in understanding things.

MY MAASAI HUSBAND

Let me introduce you my Maasai husband. His name is Ole (but I can hear that others call him by different names so who knows if really), he is around 26 years old (but he doesn't know exactly his age so maybe he is 22 and maybe he is 35) and he is from Arusha (but for some reason all his brothers, cousins, sisters and friends are from Kiberashi), but my Ole - only him - he is from Arusha. Also his boma is near Kiberashi. Strange, isn't it? But who cares.  He is selling the traditional Maasai jewelry on the beach and it's his job. From only this job he is alive. At least he told me this.  He doesn't need to buy stuff for shop, because his mother  and sisters are doing bracelets for tourists but from some reason he is still asking money for his shop.  I am always giving him the money, I also don't know for what exactly. He is very poor guy and he does have almost nothing. He is so poor that until today he could not get married despite the fact that everyone ...

THE SMALL UGLY WORLD OF ZANZIBAR

To see the Maasai for first time can be very confusing.   On one side you see them at Zanzibar in very bad light in the role of male prostitutes how they are chasing tourists on the beach and how they are trying to get a white woman by manipulation and lies and also you can hear MANY terrible stories about Maasais scammers and about all the crimes they commit at Zanzibar.  On other side the influencers (mostly white women earning money on the image of Maasai) are talking about beautiful Maasai culture full of beautiful HONEST people who are almost holy, such people of the God who are never doing any crimes. You will also read many posts on those channels describing the Maasai as better people than western people are (in each possible meaning) and how there is no single one bad thing presents in that culture (what itself is very suspicious).    Anyway - these two realities are so different and so far away from each-other, that people can be really confused - n...

THE AGE IS ONLY THE NUMBER

Maybe yes... But for sure not in the tribe of Maasai. As everything else, also the rules regarding the age inside of the Maasai community is strictly defined.  Among Maasai the aging can be taken from different angles and for understanding how it is, you need to know from which side and from which position you look at it. AGING IN GENERAL: as we all know already, the whole Maasai community is managed trough AGE-SET system. As the name is saying - the age plays very important role in the life of each and every Maasai. Going trough all the age stages, the social status of Maasai in the tribe is changing (especially in the world of Maasai men). And not only social status but also the responsibilities and roles inside of the tribe.  While old people in Western world are often a burden on the social system and they can feel unnecessary, isolated and unwanted, in Maasai culture with older age comes respect and reverence. That's why Maasais don't need to be sad about the aging, bec...
